Acupuncture
40-minute session
Acupuncture works by stimulating the body’s healing responses or immune system. It involves the insertion of very fine sterilised needles – disposable and never re-used – into the body surface at strategic points.
Acupuncture is an ancient therapy used to restore the balance of the body’s natural energy system. Acupuncture theory is based on the concept of Qi, Qi is the vital energy in our body-Qi-circulates through energy channels or meridians. Qi is the force or force that promotes and drives the functions of the body and mind. The working principle of acupuncture is to insert very thin sterilized disposable acupuncture needles into the meridians (energy channels). Acupuncturists can stimulate the body’s own healing response and help restore its natural balance/homeostasis. Since the energy of each organ spreads and affects different parts of the body, acupuncturists may perform acupuncture in areas that are clearly unrelated to the location of the symptoms. By leaving the needle in the body for about 20 minutes, an energy circuit will be formed, which will help correct any imbalance and bring relief to the patient.
An acupuncturist can identify 12 internal organs, each of which has a corresponding meridian or meridian, and the qi of the internal organs passes through these meridians or meridians. The flow of qi can be disturbed by many factors, including emotional restlessness, physical trauma, poor diet or overwork. Air resistance can be manifested in painful areas, particularly cold or hot, or different coloured areas. These signs can help the acupuncturist determine which acupuncture points are most suitable. Treating the patient as an individual is at the core of acupuncture treatment, which helps the body rebalance itself. Acupuncture also includes other techniques such as cupping, moxibustion or acupressure.
Acupressure - traditional Chinese massage
30-minute session
Tuina same as acupressure but it is called Tuina in China. Chinese medicine refers to the use of hands to press the meridians and acupoints on the human body to use massage, nipping, pinching, kneading and other techniques for treatment. Tuina in China is equivalent to what we call physical therapy, osteopathy and other manual therapies in the West.
Tuina is a non-medicinal natural therapy and physical therapy. It usually means that the doctor uses his own hands to act on the patient’s body surface, injured part, discomfort, specific acupuncture points, painful areas, and specifically uses massage, holding, pressing, rubbing, kneading, pinching, tapping, patting, etc. Various forms of techniques are expected to achieve the effects of dredging the meridians, promoting qi and blood, healing injuries and pain, dispelling evils and strengthening the body, and reconciling yin and yang.
Tuina techniques can be strong or weak. “Nudge pushing and forward pushing are both tonic”, that is, gentle, continuous stimulation can activate the physiological functions of the internal organs, which is a tonic method; rapid, heavier and short-term stimulation will inhibit The physiological function of the organs is the method of purging. For specific patients, the severity of the manipulation should be based on the patient’s tolerance. When a strong sensation of soreness, numbness, swelling and pain is produced, it is diarrhea, and when the feeling is mild, it is tonic. The frequency of the technique is also related to replenishing and reducing, “slow friction is to replenish, and rapid friction is to reduce”, that is, the lower frequency is the replenishing method, and the fast frequency is the reducing method.
Many people feel that Chinese massage and massage are the same, and the effect is the same. In fact, the two are different. Maybe everyone thinks that both of them can help remove some of the body’s fatigue, so they think that this massage is the same as massage. Tuina in Chinese medicine needs to help treat diseases based on acupoints. Massage is mainly to help relieve some strains, or to help hands and feet move.
Cupping
30-minute session
Cupping body is a physical therapy method of Chinese medicine, which can help prevent physical diseases, etc. Now that more and more people like cupping, proper cupping is good for the body.
Cupping is to buckle the acupuncture points of the body through a container and then exhaust the air in the container to allow it to adsorb to the skin of the body, so as to achieve a certain effect, and some use the method of burning fire.
First of all, what is the use of cupping for the body?
- Assist in diagnosing diseases
Cupping is to buckle the body with acupuncture points, and then suck out the negative pressure. After cupping, the body will leave a variety of imprints. These imprints of different colours can show the condition of the body and, to a certain extent, can help diagnose diseases in the body.
- Promote blood circulation
When cupping, the negative pressure in the tank must be exhausted, and then it will be adsorbed on the surface of the skin, which will pull muscles, blood vessels, nerves, etc. To a certain extent, it can help improve the reaction speed of the nervous system and endocrine system, the permeability of blood vessel walls, and help regulate the contraction of blood vessels, and help improve blood circulation throughout the body.

Moxibustion is a kind of pure physical therapy, which has the functions of warming meridian and dredging collaterals, replenishing qi and activating blood, dispelling cold and relieving pain, raising yang, lifting depression, and replenishing deficiency and solidification.

It is suitable for gout, cold, rheumatic pain, frozen shoulder, lumbar muscle strain, joint pain, cough and asthma, dysmenorrhea, etc. Moxibustion can be used to prevent diseases that are susceptible in winter in summer. The smoke produced by moxa is harmless and has the natural fragrance of moxa leaf, which can disinfect the air, not only does not choke but also relieves asthma and cough.
Moxibustion is mainly performed in two ways. One is to burn moxa sticks and ignite and hang them above the skin, or place moxa sticks on a protective medium on the skin and then ignite them. In both cases, the burning of mugwort leaves uses the warmth and steam of healing herbs to improve blood circulation, warm menstruation, relieve pain, enhance disease resistance and reduce swelling.
What my customers say
I have now had a course of treatment including massage and acupuncture which has succeeded where orthodox medicine had failed.
I would highly recommend treatment at the Oriental Garden after such a favourable outcome.
